Dutch election results reviewed

The smallest biggest won.*

The recent Dutch national election results beg for a review, a try to explain the tis for tat in a fragmented democracy.
But I will not. Just some remarks.

For the first time in our democratic electoral history the liberal party,
VVD (Voor Vrijheid en Democratie) became the largest faction in parliament.*
With 31 seats, just overtaking PvdA, the major labour/socialist party.

Balkenende, the passing christian party headman and former prime minister did'nt lead his CDA to salvation.
They were half-sized.

Most remarkable of course is the immense and continuing rise of Geert Wilders
and his islam-bashing PVV (Partij Voor de Vrijheid)
PVV has grown from 9 to 22 seats of 150.

Dutch democracy is being tested, the good way, of(f) course.

*) Although VVD is the biggest polical party in the recent 2010 NL Dutch elections,
historically a largest party has never been that small.

A coalition government as The Netherlands is used to,
the polder way of parties has never been more unforseen
and so far fetched.

I'm waiting
