Today 1.5 million people filled the streets of Barcelona demonstrating against a legaslative curb from Madrid that stroke out 14 of the 27 articles of the new Catalan constitution. That's annoying if you are peacefully striving for more independence, massively so.
Per la Estatut (my cap), the statute.

soundbite from TV Barcelona reporter:
'ha acabat convertint-se en la més gran de la història de Catalunya. De fet, la capçalera s'ha hagut de dissoldre al voltant de les vuit del vespre a causa d'una massiva participació.'
Thanks to Internet, a hint from @Nuria1966 and Barcelona TV I was able to watch the 'mani' live.
Nice hey to be a bit Catalunatic.
People waving Catalan flags have brought the centre of Barcelona to a standstill today in protest at the Constitutional Court of Spain's ruling on the legality of the Statute of Catalunya.
With a 250 square metre "senyera", the flag of Catalunya, leading the way, protestors have flooded the centre of the Catalan capital. And nobody is burning Spanish flags, there are no riots whatsoever.
Dignified and noble the Catalans strive, legally and with their feet on the streets of Barcelona.
Catalunya will be the first country in modern history to be granted independence without seizing it with violance.
By will and pride alone I consider myself partially Catalan for the simple reason of having lived there for almost 3 years. And having grasped the lingo. The beholding kind.
Visca catalunya, un nou pais en europa. Els meus benvinguts.
